What does it mean to own a holiday home at one of our Lusso Parks in Scotland?
When you buy a holiday home or luxury lodge at a Lusso Parks location, such as Riverview Holiday Park or Newbridge Country Park, you own the home itself while the pitch is provided under a licence agreement.
This agreement details how long your home can stay on the park and the terms of use. It’s a stress-free and flexible way to enjoy regular getaways in Scotland without the responsibilities of land ownership.
How long can I keep and use my holiday home in Scotland?
There is no particular time limit on home ownership. As long as your home is kept in a good and reasonable state. However, the following is based on the manufacturers guide on our holiday homes:
Static caravans - 20+ year licence terms
High-end Scottish lodges - 30+ years license terms.
Riverview and Newbridge are both open 12 months of the year, giving owners the freedom to visit as often as they wish during park opening dates.
What ongoing costs should I expect as a holiday-home owner?
Owning a holiday home with Lusso Parks involves some regular costs, including:
Pitch fees – Funding park maintenance, landscaping, roads, lighting, and facilities. Currently, pitch fees at all Lusso Parks are £2,700 a year, including VAT, water and rates.
Utilities – Metered electricity, and gas.
Insurance – Required for all holiday homes and lodges
Holiday homes do not incur council tax as long as you maintain a separate primary residence.
Can friends and family stay in my holiday home?
Yes — one of the key advantages of owning a holiday home in Scotland is being able to share it with the people you love.
Family and friends are welcome to stay at your Lusso Parks holiday home. However, commercial subletting is not permitted, helping maintain a peaceful, owner-focused environment at all our parks.
Can I upgrade, sell, or part-exchange my holiday home?
Yes. Owners at Lusso Parks benefit from flexible pathways, whether you're looking to:
- Upgrade to a newer or more spacious model
- Part-exchange your existing home for a luxury lodge
